  • Begin your next chapter. The best way to prove your worth is to move on to your next accomplishment. Let your future success speak for itself.
  • Don’t burn any bridges. It’s a small world out there. The person you trashed at your last company could easily show up at another one with job openings.
  • Swallow hard if you must. An exit interview isn’t an excuse to air your long-held grievances. Leave on good terms. Remember that in business it seldom matters who is right. What matters more is who maintains dignity and respect.

    • Probably the most important is the first piece of advice but I think we should add a few to this list:

  • Don’t leave behind unfinished business. Finnish what you have started or if you cannot find people that can do this for you.
  • Thank the people that helped you. It’s a small world so there is a high probability that you will meet again.
